The AF-SH1 is used in applications requiring headphones of any impedance to be driven from consumer or professional audio sources. The module mounts conveniently in a precut opening in a wood or metal enclosure or in various RDL mounting accessories. The AF-SH1 is a dual channel headphone amplifier with balanced/unbalanced left and right inputs. Each input accepts operating levels between -20 dBV and +20 dBu. Two recessed slide switches located on the side of the rear enclosure are set prior to mounting the module. One switch is provided for setting the input sensitivity. The mode switch selects between stereo and mono operation. In the mono position, the left input is used to drive both output channels. When the module is used in a monaural system, only the left channel input must be wired. The front panel level control is a long-life potentiometer controlling matched VCAs. Audio does not pass through this control, assuring years of noise-free level adjustment. The output amplifiers deliver more than 50 mW into either high or low impedance headphones through a durable, metal ¼” (6.3 mm) standard headphone jack. Module operation is from a 24 Vdc ground-referenced power supply. It can also operate from a 12 Vdc supply with a 6 dB reduction in headroom and a maximum output power of 10 mW.

The AV-DC4 is a mono transformer-coupled audio divider/ combiner module for use with balanced, low or high impedance audio inputs and outputs. Input and output connections are provided on XLR jacks with gold-plated contacts. The AV-DC4 features four identical channels. Each channel may be used as either an input or as an output. Two XLR jacks are provided on each channel. The female jack is used if the channel is being used as an input; the male jack is used if the channel is being used as an output. The shield (pin 1) connections of both XLR jacks on a particular channel are normally connected to ground. The GND LIFT switch on each channel is used to disconnect the shield from circuit ground at audio frequencies.

Galvanic isolation between each of the channels is provided by a studio quality audio transformer. The AV-DC4 breaks the “ground loop” connection that can produce hum in a sound system. The input connector shield does provide a radio frequency ground return, thereby preserving system immunity to radio interference.

The four channels allow multiple uses for the AV-DC4. A single mono audio source can be divided to feed one, two or three mono equipment inputs. A stereo source can be combined to mono, feeding one or two mono equipment inputs. A mono source can be divided to feed a stereo equipment input (left and right). A stereo source can be combined to mono and simultaneously be divided to feed the mono signal to both the left and right inputs of stereo equipment. Ground lift may be selected individually on any of the channels.

The AV-DC4 is a rugged product designed for portable use. For fixed installations, a mounting bracket is included.


AV-HK1 Hum Killer Phono Jacks
The AV-HK1 is a stereo transformer isolation module for use with unbalanced, high impedance audio inputs. Input and output connections are provided on gold-plated phono jacks. The AV-HK1 is supplied with two adapter cables to facilitate connecting with products that use mini-plugs and jacks.

The shield connection of each INPUT jack is electrically isolated from the case and from the output ground. The shield connection of each OUTPUT jack is connected to the case shield. The user audio source, such as a computer, CD player, cassette player or other consumer audio product, connects to the AV-HK1 INPUT. The OUTPUT should be connected to the input of the grounded amplifier or mixer in the audio system.

Input and output jacks are oriented left (L) and right (R) when the user is facing each end panel. The correct channel orientation is indicated on the front panel of the module.

The AV-HK1 is a rugged product designed for portable use. For fixed installations, a mounting bracket is included. Many consumer audio inputs and outputs use stereo mini-plugs and jacks. The AV-HK1 includes two adapter cables to interface with these products. The cable kits are also available separately from RDL in the event a cable becomes worn or lost.

AV-HK1X Hum Killer XLR Connectors
The AV-HK1X is a mono transformer isolation module for use with a balanced, low impedance source and either a low or high impedance load. Input and output connections are provided on XLR jacks with gold-plated contacts.

The shield (pin 1) connection of the INPUT jack is electrically isolated from the case and from the output ground (pin 1) at audio frequencies. The ground (pin 1) connection of the OUTPUT jack is connected to the case shield. The user audio source, such as a mixer, preamplifier or other professional audio product, connects to the AV-HK1X input. The module output should be connected to the input of the grounded amplifier or mixer in the audio system.

The RCS4 is the ideal choice where sources are to be selected from a single or from multiple remote control locations, and visual indication is desired.

The RCS4 is designed to directly interface with RDL control modules, such as the RACK-UP® series RU-SX4A Audio Selector. The RCS4 momentary pushbutton sends a stepping signal back to the RDL control module. When connected to the RU-SX4A, pushing the button on the RCS4 causes the source to advance sequentially to the next input. The audio is muted during stepping to avoid annoying bursts of audio.

In installations where ULTRASTYLE™ wall controls are preferred, use the RUC-4 Universal Remote Control.
